We, the undersigned residents of Hertford & Stortford, call on Josh Dean MP to vote against Labour's shameful decision to scrap Winter Fuel Payments for thousands of pensioners in our community. This vital support should remain available to all pensioners who need it, and there is simply no justification for this politically motivated decision. Those who have worked hard and paid into the system deserve a comfortable retirement.
In East Hertfordshire, 24,781 pensioners could lose their Winter Fuel Payment, putting them at serious risk during the coldest months. Our pensioners deserve to stay warm without the fear of having to choose between heating and eating. We urge Josh Dean MP to stand with us and protect the Winter Fuel Payment for all vulnerable pensioners in our community.
