Do you feel strongly about your local community? Do you want to make a difference or help shape the future of your local area? Or maybe you’re a good listener and feel you have the knack of representing people or local groups who may not be able to speak out for themselves? Are you a committed Conservative who is passionate about applying Conservative principles in local government; fostering a strong sense of community, providing high quality local services, and providing good value for money to taxpayers?
If this sounds like you, then you might just be one of the people we’re looking for to stand as one of our local council candidates!
With not much more than a year to go until the 2019 Local Elections, the Hertford and Stortford Conservative Association is taking a lead to being organised and ready to fight every seat on our local town councils and on East Herts District Council.
But to do this, we need a diverse range of candidates from across the constituency who are willing and able to stand and make a difference to the local community.
You don’t need to know a lot about how the council works or be an expert on local issues: all you need is commitment and the ability to listen and lead on issues important to you and the local people you represent.
So, whatever your background, whatever your walk of life, if you believe you have the energy, commitment, drive and skill become a local Conservative councillor or know someone who does, we want to hear from you.
If you would like to find out more about the role and what is involved, contact the Hertford and Stortford Conservative Association on 01279 312 196 or email [email protected] and we will arrange for someone to answer all your questions.
We look forward to hearing from you.
